Benefits of long distance walking...

Serene shores or those wild meadows, Walking has its own way of chiseling our lives and make them more beautiful. Being one among those other important evolutionary experiments, bipedalism, which defines our fundamental human characteristic, is what paved way for our whole species to evolve differently and reign the world.. Back then walking was inextricably linked to our survival which is extremely in contrast to these days..

However walking has its own psychological and physiological benefits..
And men throughout history have
acknowledged its usefulness and pushed their limits in order to reap its benefits..
One such example I'd like to quote here is the the story of Edward Payson Weston.. A 19th century long distance pedestrian who walked the distance of 453 miles in 208 hours from Boston to Washington..
Ever since then pedestrianism was seen as a form of competitive sport...This journey of "walk" is such a personal experience..For be it walking in nature and feeling its Magical essence or sauntering those busy streets of a metro city, right from its direct physical advantages such as maintaining body weight, improving cardiovascular fitness, strengthening bones and muscles
to mental health such as reducing stress and anxiety and many more..It brings about a lot of changes in you as a person..
Thus as Hendry David Thoreau said
"Walking allows us to be able to see ourselves, not merely as others see us, but as we are.”  It's a beautiful way of life, where we re discover ourselves and connect more with our inner being and our surroundings..
